Abstract
In daily life, the matter of security warrants careful consideration. Security is imperative for both large corporations and government entities. Biometric security has gained widespread adoption for identification purposes. Various biometric traits such as the iris, fingerprint, and facial features find utility in user identification across diverse industries. While numerous security systems are available, they all possess inherent limitations and vulnerabilities. Conversely, biometric traits offer ease of use, immunity to loss or forgetfulness, and heightened suitability for recognition and identification tasks. To enhance the security of biometric recognition systems, the implementation of cancelable biometrics has been proposed, entailing the transformation of data or biometric attributes into a novel format. This study introduces a novel approach to face recognition security through the utilization of the Rubik's cube technique. Rubik's cube scrambling serves as a tool to obfuscate facial images intended for user recognition or identification. The proposed system has undergone testing using the FERET database. Simulation outcomes affirm that the suggested encryption framework not only achieves robust encryption and effective concealment of image particulars but also demonstrates resistance against exhaustive, statistical, and differential attacks.
