Analysis of Foot Pressure Distribution in a Loaded Standing Position

Abstract
Plantar pressure and contact area information are crucial to giving insight into stress on the foot. People who are at risk of foot imbalance in loaded positions due to their functions are the target of the study. The aim was to measure the plantar pressure and the contact area with different loaded positions. Five positions with a 12 Kg load in addition to no load have been investigated. The loaded positions were the right shoulder, the left shoulder, the right hand, the left hand, and the back of the body. An experiment has been conducted using a foot pressure measuring system. Ten healthy adult males with an average weight of 79.9 Kg were asked to test the system. The results were reported in terms of the distribution of the plantar pressure and the percentage of the contact area. The results of the study recommend that the back of the body is the most suitable position for carrying external loads. On the other hand, the right-hand and left-hand load positions are the worst positions for carrying external loads.
