Abstract
The present study aimed to comprehensively investigate the impact of cardiovascular diseases on hemodynamic parameters to potentially prevent strokes through early detection. Our analysis encompassed ten benchmarks, including four models simulating stenosis due to plaque formation, five models investigating dilation in the vascular system due to fusiform aneurysms, and one healthy model. The simulations were conducted using ANSYS FLUENT 19.2 software. The obtained results investigate the significant impact of the hemodynamic wall parameters on the blood vessel cross-section. The magnitude wall shear stress (WSS) exhibited criticality in the case of stenosis with d/D = 0.4, with the value being approximately 1784% higher than that of the healthy vessel.
